DJ saved my life battle is an exciting event where DJs create routines and compete against each other to win the DJ's title of the Eastern Region and take-home bragging rights and a trophy. A DJ battle is an excellent opportunity for DJs with different levels of experience. You can perform for a crowd and a panel of judges, and you may be able to win the competition. However, a lot of these competitions rely on the response of the crowd.
In some ways, that can make it harder for newer DJs to win. But don't let that discourage you from competing if you want to. The more battles you do, the more fans you'll get. And as you grow your fanbase, you can ask them to watch you, DJ, at future battles.
A judging panel will also consider your skills, but the crowd is probably the most critical factor. Depending on the battle, you might also receive a score for music choice, mixing skills, and body language. During the competition, you'll have at least 5 minutes to perform.

Judging Criteria
Judging is based on three criteria's:
Originality- 40%
We want you to show your skills and take us on a musical journey, but most important: We want you to do you! Dig deep into all kinds of crates and let your uniqueness move the audience. Show then your tricks to blow minds, let your imagination comes up, creatively use your gear and make the crowd and the judges ask for more. We believe that one of the most exceptional abilities of a Dj is adding a personal touch to a song and creating a new musical journey with it. Looking for your presenting ideas leaves a lasting impression on the audience and your way to approach performance.
Each DJ will be given 5 minutes to impress the judges with their technical skills while also focusing on the element of a crowd that wants to party.
The judges will be looking for the following criteria: Originality, Skills, Music Selection. The only creative constraint the DJ's are given is that they have to play at least three distinct music genres.
On the technical front, we allow for the following. 2 players (2 turntables or CDJs), one mixer, and a maximum of 2 midi devices. One-piece controllers are also allowed in replacement of our standard setup of players and mixer. There is no predefined backline for this art form, but this is the maximum allowable amount of gear for this event. You are free to do whatever you want with the equipment mentioned above on the DJ desk.
Researching new records, digging for a classic ripe for a revisit, playing lesser-player-but-great music, and shining a light on incidental music, are essential parts of DJing. Or maybe you are keen to show some music from where you are from; it doesn't matter, do things YOUR way so you can stand out from the pack.
Strength of Show (Skills)-25%
Elements considered in the skills category:
Mixing: Arrangement & sequence of music, flow & pacing of the set, the timing of transitions (beat matching, fading, etc.);
Live Editing of the Music: Including (but not limited to) beat juggling, scratching, musical use of cue points.
Reading the Crowd: How the DJ adapts to the crowd during the performance;
Overall Presentation: How the DJ combines these skills with their music selection in a balanced manner.
Music Selection-20%
It takes 5 minutes to make an impression on the crown and judges; during your set, be sure to choose a musical selection that defines who you are as a DJ. Ask yourself which music you want to be remembered by? Put energy on showing your style and taste; the right track on display can show the audience what you are passionate about, and that is what we want to hear.
Wild Cards
This will be the round for the top to DJ from the first two rounds. The same rules will apply with a surprise twist on the day of the event.
