Gamma Omicron Omega Chapter

Gamma Omicron Omega chapter in Baltimore, MD is one of the prolific chapters in all of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. The chapter is known to have the highest financial members and life members in the organization and is home to 1A63, Honorable Founder Lonnie Spruill Jr. Gamma Omicron Omega chapter is led by Polaris Brian Murray who is leading the chapter into new lights.

Captained by Bro. Randall Walker with Beta Alpha Omega Chapter in Northern, VA. This team led over 10 Fraternity teams within the Region raising the most funds for the organization’s National Partnership with St. Judes.

Beta Alpha Omega Alumni Chapter

Beta Alpha Omega chapter continues to be the Alumni chapter that many others want to be. For the 2nd year in a row, the chapter has won back-to-back acknowledgment for being the Alumni Chapter of the Year for the Mighty Eastern Region. Beta Alpha Omega chapter is led by Bro. Dr. Harold Cooper and the chapter is a proud and active member of the Prince William Council of the National Pan-Hellenic Council.

 

Undergraduate Chapter of the Year 2021 – 2022
Xi Chapter

The newly reactivated Xi chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Incorporated came back into the scene with a successful intake class. Led and managed by Alpha Omicron Omega Chapter, Xi chapter took the reigns as the leading chapter for all Undergraduate chapters in the Eastern Region.

Dr. Harold Cooper

Brother Dr. Harold Cooper is the current Polaris of Beta Alpha Omega chapter. His work as the Polaris has led to the chapter is the chapter of the year in 2 consecutive years. His areas of influence go beyond the Northern VA area as he also serves in the State’s leadership team and always looking to partner with other Fraternity chapters to help drive different success metrics in the organization.

Community Engagement:

★Within our Chapter Bro Wesley served as the Chapter Chaplin, Community Service Coordinator and Director of Membership Services

★Bro Wesley singlehandedly developed an episodic relationship with Operation Inasmuch and through this our chapter participated bi-monthly with the feeding program as well as numerous donation efforts towards the lodge (3yrs running)

★Bro Wesley was pivotal in developing a relationship with the St. Ann school and volunteered along with a few others brothers in their afterschool mentorship program

★Bro Wesley led a bible study for the Fayetteville Men’s lodge 1x a week (2yrs running)

★Bro Wesley led our Angel Tree Christmas donation program and annually linked us with those in need through his pastoral connections

★Bro Wesley led our chapter annually with Operation Turkey which prepared, packed and delivered meals for families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday season

★Bro Wesley served as the Team Captain for St. Jude for our chapter along with Central and Eastern Iota and raised an average of $1500 each of the previous 3 years

★As the Community Service Rep for the chapter, Leo manages all of the local chapter service hours and was responsible for tracking & inputting that data into the National database on a regular basis

Recruitment & Retention

★Bro Wesley served as the Director of Membership intake for 4 consecutive years and under his leadership our Chapter grew by 15 new brothers since 2019!

•No other Chapter in the Region has had this level of consistent, sustained growth

★Bro Wesley served as the off-campus advisor to the UNCP Colony and crossed 3 new members into this colony

Brother Kolbey Barnes

Kolbey Barnes is a recent graduate of Frostburg State University (Class of 2020). He became a brother of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Incorporated in November 2018. In his short time as a member, he has successfully taken on various leadership roles both on and off-campus, which has led him to be the recipient of many awards and community recognition. He is passionate about bodybuilding and martial arts and looks forward to continuing to serve in his local community as an active member Psi Omega Alumni chapter.

Brother Stan Chambers, Jr.

Stan Chambers Jr. joined Iota in 1999 as a charter member of the Delta Iota chapter (Fairleigh Dickinson University) and has served in multiple fraternity roles, including undergraduate and graduate chapter Polaris, undergraduate chapter advisor, and was the fraternity’s first Director of Communications. A Life Member, Stan has also earned multiple fraternity awards, including Northeast Region (now Atlantic Coast Region) Undergraduate Polaris of the Year, The Grand Polaris Service Award, East Carolina University Outstanding Chapter Advisor, was Polaris of two regional chapters of the year and one state chapter of the year, and is the 2020 Eastern Region Alumni Brother of the Year.

 

Professionally, Stan is the Advocacy Communications Manager for the North Carolina Healthcare Association, where he creates and executes strategic creative efforts to change the conversation around healthcare in the Tar Heel State. This comes after an award-winning career in journalism and communications, including positions as a television news digital content director and director of communications of a non-profit where he created and executed marketing and communications plans responsible for changing North Carolina’s education landscape.

2020 Alumni Chapter of the Year Award Winner
Beta Alpha Omega Chapter

The Beta Alpha Omega chapter was chartered on July 16, 2006, by alumni brothers to serve the communities in the Northern VA region. Since that time many influential Iota men have been a part of this chapter and made a lasting impact. The chapter has created the CSM Karl Roberts, Sr. Memorial Book Scholarship that has awarded thousands of dollars to deserving seniors in Prince William County.

BAO is extremely involved with the Northern VA community working with groups such as NAACP, National Black Chamber of Commerce, Prince William County Human Rights Commission, Alfred Street Baptist Church, Fairfax County Angel Tree, Manassas African American Heritage Festival, Manassas Food Bank, VA  Adopt a Highway Program, Henderson Elementary School, Northern VA Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Iota Epsilon Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., the Northern VA NPHC, and the surrounding DMV IOTA chapters.

Beta Alpha Omega chapter is an active participant in our national initiatives like the National Institute of Health - All of Us Research Program; #MuchMoreThanAHashtag, voter education and registration for the community; COVID-19 health and safety response forum; and raising donations for St. Jude Children's Hospital since 2019. The chapter has been the recipient of multiple Fraternal and local awards and is a past winner of the Eastern Region Community Service Award.
